CAPSIN is an all natural
analgesic lotion. The active ingredient in CAPSIN
is Oleoresin of Capsicum, an extract of the chili pepper plant. Oleoresin
of Capsicum contains a group of natural components called Capsaicinoids.
Capsaicin is the most abundant of these.
CAPSIN produces its
analgesic effect by inhibiting the transmission of pain signals from the
skin to the brain. It is believed that a chemical produced in the nerve
endings of the skin, Substance P, is depleted by the topical application
of CAPSIN. Diminished
levels of Substance P in the skin decrease the amount of pain perceived
by the brain.
CAPSIN should only be
applied to intact skin. It should never be applied to areas where the
skin is damaged or irritated.
For best results apply CAPSIN
to the painful sites 3 to 4 times a day. Some people may experience relief
very soon after the initial application, others may not experience relief
for 6 to 8 weeks.
